Roles And Responsibilities:

  • The Technologies Division is seeking a qualified Avaya Engineer to assist the Technologies Division and Denver International Airport support and manage its Avaya Voice solution. The Avaya Voice solution is a mission critical platform vital to the airport wide operations.  
  • Candidates should be skilled in and Avaya Communications Manager 5.2 telephone system and adjunct applications and services.    Key capabilities provided today include: voicemail, call accounting, call‐ management, audio conferencing and limited functionality diagnostic tools.    The Avaya network is comprised of the following key components: a central PBX, outlying media gateways, single carrier and multi‐carrier cabinets.  

Required Key Skills

  • Ability to participate in after‐hours on‐call rotation and provide remote support in certain circumstances Avaya Communications Manager services and applications development and support
  • Planning for future upgrade to CM R6
  • System and process documentation
  • Future E911 server and service planning and engineering
  • Trouble and Work Order ticket documentation
  • Microsoft services integration planning, co‐development, and implementation including messaging and other aspects of Unified Communications  
  • Avaya Voice Portal development and deployment
  • Day‐to‐day Tier 3 level escalations from the Tier 2 Technician force
  • Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) including Conversant style IVRU (interactive voice response unit) objects based upon VXML and SIP Technologies Division
  • Text‐to‐Speech and Speech‐to‐Text  
  • Call Vectoring and documentation thereof
  • Skills‐based Expert Agent Selection for Call Centers
  • Future virtualization of certain adjuncts including eCAS and CXM
  • Mentor and support Technician workforce
  • Planning near future replacement of call recording platform
  • Basic LINUX and MS Windows server admin, shell scripting, batch files, backup processes and documentation
  • Collaborates with Data Network and Information Security engineers to support VoIP and voice systems inter‐nodal communications.
  • Knowledge of data communications that link the various systems and adjuncts
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex voice system troubles.
  • Maintains professional and robust vendor relationships.
  • CAS report template and generation support
  • Modeling and adherence to ITIL V3 Best Practices
  • Understands supporting technologies such as Cisco routing, Microsoft enterprise and computing equipment hardware, Operating Systems, etc.
  • Designs, implements, operates, maintains, and oversees activities related to providing voice services and systems.
  • Assists with the employment of sound change management practices.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements specific continuity and system configuration documents for assigned systems.\
  • Proactively monitors effectiveness, document performance, and provides on‐going feedback/reports of voice and data network infrastructure.
  • Assists with voice and data network initiatives and baseline monitoring/performance studies of assigned systems.
  • Maintains proficiency with various server platforms, operating systems, and software associated with voice and data network systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards is demonstrated by teaching and coaching others.
  • Assists with maintenance of as‐built drawings, configuration files and database inventories of the voice and data network systems.
  • When appropriate, provides assistance with inventories and configuration, identifying associated users.
  • Updates appropriate configuration diagrams and tables in database inventory.
